Biopharmaceutical company Xencor holds a ribbon cutting for its new laboratory and headquarters at 465 N. Halstead in Pasadena.
Biopharmaceutical technology company Xencor Inc. Pasadena will add to its reputation as a health and technology hub next week when it holds the ribbon for its new lab and headquarters location in the Pasadena Business Center.
The christening will feature remarks from Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, LA County Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Zencor President and CEO Basil Dahiat.
The company, which develops clinical-stage drug candidates to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases, announced plans to relocate from Monrovia to the campus at 465 N. Halstead in 2021. The ad was seen coming to life in space. Science Center, connecting campus with Xencor.
The move necessitated the renovation of the company’s 148,000 square feet of gross lease space, which accounts for about half of the entire property.
Founded in 1997 as a Caltech startup, Xencor now has 287 employees, 168 of whom are currently based in Pasadena.
