Neil Griffin College of Business recognizes outstanding 2022-23 graduates

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s Neal Griffin College of Business’ outstanding 2022-23 graduates were recognized during convocation, said Dr. Jim Washam, dean of the college.
Roxana Flores Munoz of Jonesboro received the Chancellor’s Scholar Award as the graduate with the highest GPA at the college this academic year. Munoz, Kathleen Cooper of Jonesboro, Melanie Fortson of Cabot, Lauren Fry of Beech Grove, Lisa King of Alexander, Elizabeth Noel of Paragold, Lindsey Norman of Boone, Catherine Patillo of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Austin Schultz of Paragold and Jessie Thompson of Paragold received the 4.0 Scholar Award. A Chancellor’s Scholar is a 4.0 student with multiple credit hours at A-State.
The top graduate awards in each degree program are given to outstanding graduate students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.
Recipients of departmental awards and their respective degree programs are: Melanie Fortson of Cabot, accounting; Elizabeth Noel of Paragold, business administration; Thomasna Huggins of Jonesboro, Luka Naglich of Jesenice, Slovenia, and Austin Schultz of Paragold, finance (financial management emphasis); Kenley Killian of Pineville and Chance Lawson of Searcy, Finance (Banking Emphasis); Zachary Chastain of Dyess, BA in Economics; and Kaylee Middleton of Mountain Home, BS in Economics.
Other department honorees: Lindsey Norman of Bono and Christina Garlington of Benton, BA in Economics (pre-law emphasis); and Annaleise Anderson of Little Rock, computer and information technology; Ashley Watson of Searcy, international business; Kathryn Pattillo of Poplar Bluff, Mo., administration; Seth Tyre of McCrory, Management (Human Resource Emphasis); Roxana Flores Munoz of Jonesboro, marketing; John Helberg of Malvern, Marketing (Sales Leadership Emphasis); and Sydni Leung of Plano, Texas, Global Supply Chain Management.
Graduate program honorees are Emily Metcalf Owen of Jonesboro, Master of Business Administration, and Hayden Dulgar of Raveden, Master of Science in Data Analytics.
Cabot’s Melanie Fortson received the Talbert-Carothers Dean’s Award, named in honor of two former deans of the college, and awarded the second-highest GPA to a graduating senior.
