NBA style power rankings: Why Kyle Kuzma remains a fashion statement

Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers. He’s also polarizing in NBA fashion. Whatever is said about him, few can boast Being on the balcony at New York Fashion Week.

His whims attract people’s attention, whether they like them or hate them. His is one of the most famous outfits Kuzama has rocked in recent memory. An oversized pink Raf Simons sweater. It was such a conversation piece The Wizards turned him into a bobble head in January..

This week, we rank Kuzman’s best season so far. See below:

Kuzma is a Flint, Mich., native, so it’s only right to include his Detroit Tigers jersey on his trip back home to play for the Pistons. The orange base is my favorite tiger jersey, and I paired it with a white hoodie and an orange bucket hat.

The ability to layer — adding a white hat and matching the hat to the shoes — is something that normally warrants praise, but this is what we’ve come to expect from Kuzma in the fashion world.

There are different versions of Kuzma, but Cardigan Kuz is one of my favorites. Bucket hat, of course, will be the trend in this piece. He paired dark green baggy pants and a dark green shirt under a black woolen cardigan.

Kuzma’s pants seem to be pulled up to reveal his black shoes. It’s not as flashy with its accessories as other accessories around the NBA, but the pearl necklace here has a shade of green to match.

For the most part, Kuzma’s pitches can be hit or miss, but I can appreciate this look for a few reasons. The first is a leather shirt. At first glance, it looks like a jacket, but it’s actually a button-up leather shirt.

A rose-gold watch and futuristic shades make for great accessories. And the hat is something I’ve never seen before: look closely enough, and notice the pocket above the brim. If I had to bet on someone wearing something I’ve never seen before, my money would be on Kuz.

The January temperature in Milwaukee was almost freezing, so Kuzma’s light-brown trench coat was more than necessary. The brown leather seems to have been worn on purpose to give it a bit more character than your average leather jacket.

Aside from his tortoiseshell sunglasses, Kuzma opted for all black, from his pants to his boots and t-shirt. Notice that the black stripe on this coat is the only button. He also added a small gold chain.

Madison Square Garden can command some of the most recognizable players in the league. Kuzma wears his multicolored cardigan with a white t-shirt that allows us to appreciate the cardigan even more.

The white shoes have a blue sole that coordinates with the blue in the cardigan. He also wears flowing white glasses with shoes and shirt.

Instead of our usual pregame attire, here’s Kuzma’s Argyle on the bench. He got pants to a tee and a bucket hat. All in all, this is a Kuzman that will make an instant fan and best dressed at your local golf club.

This look may not be all black, but Kuzama goes with a variety of blacks and dark blues, so it’s close enough to achieve a sleek look. The dark-blue trench coat, black patterned shirt, and dress pants are the right statements, but my favorite part of this outfit is Kuzma’s gold watch peeking out between his left wrist and pocket.

Something about a Kuzma scarf on his head makes him feel as good as possible. His gray trench coat is a great pattern that pairs well with ripped jeans.

On paper, this fit might not look as fly as it does here, but it’s a discreet “I don’t want to show up now, but if I do, I want to look good” kind of thing. i love it.

2. December 7 against the Chicago Bulls

The look of Kuzama’s coat seemed to indicate that this evening was all business. His scarf and a toiletry bag in the shape of a small Goyard bag complete this look. Shades, dress shoes and pants are standard for Kuzma, but these accessories are distinguished by how they are compared to the rest.

Although he and the Wizards lost this game, Kuzma won his pregame performance.

We haven’t missed any coats and jackets from Kuzma on this list, but this one is my favorite. The brown and blue pattern works well together, and the light-brown pants seem to complement the jacket perfectly.

Tucked into the shirt here seems like an attempt to show off the belt, and I respect that. Check out Kuzman’s gray Yankees fitted cap. It looks like a pair of jeans. I haven’t seen many hats with his design before.
