This year’s NTTW theme, “Journey Forward,” reflects the critical role of travel in driving economic growth and innovation.

Held annually the first full week in May, NTTW was created by Congress in 1983 to increase the economic potential of America’s travel. The 40th annual NTTW is an opportunity to celebrate and highlight what makes our industry what it is: business owners, city leaders, our visitors and our community.

“Vermont’s travel and tourism industry has an annual economic impact of $3.2 billion and employs 10 percent of Vermont’s workforce. Stowe would not be the destination it is without the local industry professionals who make our town special for visitors and locals alike.” said Carrie Simmons, executive director of the Stowe Area Association. “As we celebrate this invaluable industry, we can show our support for our local friends and neighbors by using businesses in various areas to offer special promotions and events throughout the week.”

Through NTTW, SAA aims to promote the importance of travel and tourism and the positive impact it can have on the economic health of our communities. We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating this important industry and all it does to support our community. Special NTW promotions and events include:
