“Don’t make me angry. You don’t love me when I’m angry.” That’s the statement Natasha Zinko is leading for Autumn/Winter 2023, taking to London Fashion Week FW23 with purpose, impact and urgency.

Held at Quakers House, the FW23 “MONSTER” runway show began in the dark with a vintage ad soundtrack that sounded like an old radio clip. Here, sexist comments on housewives of yesteryear are left behind and archaic societal expectations emanate from the speakers, but all this is soon interrupted by bright lights, loud music and, of course, Natasha Zinko’s powerful sets.

Skin-tight Hulk-inspired tops clashed with comic-print dresses, some with sharp shoulders and others appearing as morph suits. The previous list contained many collections – à la Vetements, Balenciaga, and the like – with double-jean jackets with buttoned jeans attached to the back, the aforementioned shoulder accents or faux fur coats again flowing left and right. On both sides of the model’s head.

Volume was key to the show’s proportional plays. Sometimes it was barely there, monstrously ripped to reveal the skin beneath, while other looks exploded with size—a black, floor-length coat with abs and biker jackets, or a silky white shirt cut with strong shoulders. pads confirmed this to the max.

And “up to the top” is exactly what Zinko was going for this season. It takes classic cutters and takes them to new territories, all adding to what can happen if you awaken the monster within us.

Check out the collection above and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more London Fashion Week FW23 content.
