The second half of the 2022 MLB season is now underway, and we’ve had some great moments in our first slate of games since returning from the All-Star break.

One such moment occurred in the series opener between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers have been riding high ever since they hosted the All-Star festivities, and they went out in style on Thursday night.

Mookie Betts delivered the biggest hit of the night, a three-run homer that put Los Angeles ahead 9-6 and led the way for the boys in blue.

The Dodgers tweeted a video of the moment Homes sent the crowd into a frenzy.

The Dodgers needed a big hit, so they turned to their superstar to get it done.

And he certainly did.

An 83 mph changeup from Jarlin Garcia was no match for Homes’ power, as he took a deep left hander and delivered it in the clutch.

It was a big win for the Dodgers against their opponents.

Los Angeles extended its lead over San Francisco to 13.5 games in the NL West.

They are also now 10.5 games ahead of the San Diego Padres and have a firm grasp on the best record in the National League.

They have now won five games in a row.

Betts has the ability to come up big in the clutch.

That has been his strength for many years and is why he won the AL MVP award in 2018.

He is the catalyst for this Dodgers team and will lead the way as they push for October.
