After New York Fashion Week, the fashion party has now moved to London Fashion Week. Starting from February 16, the fashion week will continue till February 21.
This season of London Fashion Week is very special as Daniel Lee, who was Bottega Veneta’s creative director, is presenting his first collection at Burberry and taking on the role of the brand’s new creative director. Other performers include JW Anderson, Simon Rocha, Christopher Kane, Nancy Dojaka and Ahluwalia.
While womenswear may have been the focus of the show, we were also impressed by what we saw on the menswear runways, including some exciting trends for the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2023 season.
London Fashion Week 2023: Presented by Designers
Burberry
The much-anticipated appointment of Burberry’s new creative director, Daniel Lee, was the highlight of London Fashion Week. Lee is known for revitalizing Bottega Veneta by introducing leather goods and accessories in pop colors, making them popular among young people. It seems to follow a similar pattern for Burberry’s debut collection. The collection saw bright colors like electric blue, dark purple, hot pink and yellow which incorporated the house’s signature striped prints in various ways. Previously, Lee brought back the old Burberry horse rider logo from 1909 and put it on the right track with his first collection honoring the house.
JW Anderson
On JW Anderson’s Autumn/Winter 2023 runway, the designer revisited his past collections and brought back some archive pieces in his own unique way. The collection featured bold t-shirts and fuzzy sweaters as well as leather pieces and tailoring.
Simon Rocha
Simone Rocha’s Autumn/Winter 2023 collection at London Fashion Week 2023 proves, once again, that she is one of the most important names in the industry. For this show, she sent models down the runway in neutral colors as well as dark shades like black and metallic. The runway also saw classic pieces like long coats, jumpsuits, jumpsuits and dresses covered in mesh, lace detailing and embellishments.
Robin Lynch
In Robin Lynch’s latest collection, we see several shades of green in different outfits. Think sweaters, bomber jackets and leather pants in all shades of green like sage, mint green, forest green and hints of neon green. Models wearing structured silhouettes in white, sand, navy and teal paired with accessories like bags and scarves dominated the show.
Ahluwalia
For her Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Priya Ahluwalia presented a fresh take on her Indo-Nigerian heritage. Colors were the focus of this collection like neon pink, forest green, orange, red, sky blue and dominant shades of camel. Men saw velvet jackets and mesh pants as well as geometric printed shirts, built-in ensembles in tie-dye prints, bomber jackets and even 70s ensembles.

LABRUM’s latest collection at London Fashion Week, titled ‘From Greener Pastures’, talks about connecting families separated by land, sea and water. An ode to West African culture, the designer seeks to bring its heritage to an international audience. The models were dressed in streetwear, denim jackets, trousers, bomber jackets with protection, loose shirts and loose prints and stripes.
Mowala
Moulala’s latest collection pays homage to New York City. The event featured staple American apparel, particularly New York-themed hats, New York Yankees logos on dance and leather jackets, classic distressed acid wash jackets, long leather coats and tanks.
