Louisiana Tech hasn’t overcome double-digit deficits in two straight games, falling to Middle Tennessee by a score of 68-51 on Saturday afternoon at the Thomas Convocation Center’s Carl Malone Court.
LA Tech (11-9, 4-5 C-USA) had one of the offensive performances of the season, coughing up the ball 15 times and making just three of 21 three-point attempts. Meanwhile, MTSU (13-7, 6-3 C-USA) was efficient in all three phases of the offense, shooting 52.1 percent from the field and making 11 triples (second most this season).
In the first seven minutes, neither team did much offensively, but later Terran Williams He drained his second three-pointer to tie the game at 10-10 with 12:32 left in the first half as the Blue Raiders went on a 13-0 run to force a Bulldogs timeout.
The lead gradually went out through the stands, finally ending at 43-24 at halftime.
LA Tech went on a pair of 6-0 runs, where it stretched. Kobe Williams Attacking the rim, he ended up on the rim. However, they needed to knock down some three-pointers to overcome that large deficit and never did (he went 0-8 from beyond the arc in the second half).
Williams scored 8 straight points to make it 60-47 with 5:06 left in the game. But it was too little, too late as MTSU went on an 8-2 run to put the game away.
Williams was the only Bulldog in double figures with 22 points. Elijah King scored 17 off the bench to stop the Blue Raiders.

“We didn’t play together today. I think our problem is on the offensive end of the court. At the beginning of the game I thought we were playing 1 on 1 basketball. I thought we were not moving the ball, we weren’t sharing it, but it was affecting our defense. We scored 24 points in the first half. We got down and started hanging our heads. I thought our defense was better in the second half with 25 points. But we dug a hole that we couldn’t get out of. We only had three assists and 15 turnovers. That’s not a winning recipe.
