Meet the BIPOC couple behind travel belt luxury brand Sincha

Whether it’s for work, vacation, or visiting family, lugging your stuff all the way through the airport isn’t an ideal way to start a trip. Add a crazy dash to catch your plane and all the bags you brought will feel heavy. BIPOC couples ash And James He founded Sinchan and designed the innovative travel belt to make “airport” travel a whole lot easier.

“Modern travel is not just one checked bag and one carry-on. It’s a lot of bags, day bags, backpacks or purses, coats and hats. It’s more than we can handle,” said Ash.

“We designed the travel belts to give every type of traveler the extra hand they need. You keep your luggage and personal items together, so you can travel with peace of mind and joy.”

As adults, Ash, a marketing director, and James, a civil rights attorney, are both experts in the hustle and bustle of the airport and finding new and exciting places to visit around the world. But this growing up was not a reality for them.

For Ash, she was only able to experience air travel because her father worked for an airline and her family was waiting. James’ first experience with flying came when a prospective college paid for his ticket.

“James and I are both fortunate to be able to satisfy our travel needs. Coming from minority and challenging backgrounds, we know very well that this opportunity and air travel for any purpose is not readily available to many people. That’s why we are fully committed to using Cincha and partnering with Miles4Migrants to help them meet their flight needs. Our partnership allows us to do just that.

Sincha gives back to their international community by donating to Miles4Migrants, which helps reunite families displaced by war, natural disasters and migration. Just last year alone, the brand raised 500,000 airline miles for the organization and led to hundreds of families reuniting for the first time in many years.

Heading into August and Black Business Month, Cincha is proud to be an example of the passion and inspiration that comes from the Black community and Black entrepreneurs in particular. Their self-belief and determination to make this vision a reality makes Sinchan a must-see for flyers, train drivers and road-trip enthusiasts alike.

“Running our small businesses is not without its challenges. Everything from supporting ourselves to making time to fulfill orders after our day job. Not to mention the hurdles faced in owning and operating a BIPOC,” James said.

But all those obstacles make it more satisfying every time we get a new order. Cincha is about extending a helping hand that we all need, and that’s the heart behind every design and donated mile.
