Lemont High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter was ranked among the top 10 of 14 at the 2023 FBLA State Leadership Conference last month. Students from seven events finished among the top four in their respective competitions to advance to the 2023 FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta.

Seniors Dominic Auriemma (Marketing), Jacob Hesuk (Cyber ​​Security) and Julia Janowski (Digital Animation) placed third in their event, while junior Natalia Zagata (Print Design) and sophomore Vikram Oberoi (Mobile App Development) finished fourth. Juniors Ethan Bator, Danny Drobnik and Krystian Kozieja tied for fourth place in computer game and simulation programming, as did sophomores Russell Daniloff and Ali Nabulsi in sales presentation. Dean Gordon of the College of Arts and Humanities selected the works “Deconstruction” and “Cardinal Styx” in recognition of outstanding artistic achievement during the academic year. These award-winning works may become part of the University’s permanent collection.

Dominic Donegan, a native of Midlothian, was recently named to the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society Class of 2023, a member of the Distinguished Program at McKendree University.

Lemont High School District 210 Superintendent Mary Ticknor has been named the 2023 Superintendent of Distinction by her colleagues in the Cook South Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators. Ticknor was honored at an awards luncheon on May 3.

“Receiving this award is an honor, but every achievement that has led to this is a collective effort,” said Ticknor. “I share this recognition with the Lemont High School administration team, staff and Board of Education. Good things happen when everyone puts students first and works together.
