Larry Anderson says he will travel to call playoff games – Phillies Nation

If the Phillies make the playoffs, they will play their first-round series on the road. If they plan to play playoff baseball in Philadelphia, they must qualify.

The wild card series will be aired ESPN On television but on the radio, locals can still call games on the Phillies Radio Network.

We know Scott Franzke will be there, but will his broadcast partner Larry Anderson join him in St. Louis, Atlanta or New York? Anderson, 69, is in his 25th season in broadcasting with the Phillies. He and Franzke teamed up in the booth after he joined the Phillies’ broadcast team in ’06.

Many of Franzke and LA’s most memorable calls have occurred in the postseason, from Matt Stairs’ pinch-hit home run in the 2008 NLCS in Los Angeles to Geoff Jenkins’ leadoff double in Game 5 of the World Series.

It’s been 11 years, but if the Phillies get going in the next two weeks, there’s a chance that a favorite Phillies radio pairing could add to the catalog of memorable postseason calls.
