LANL Foundation News released
The Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation and Wildflower International have partnered to create the new one. Dell Technologies / Wildflower International Scholarship Fund.
The $ 100,000 grant, funded by Wildflower International with the support of Dell Technologies, provides scholarships to undergraduates in Northern New Mexico high school and in computer science and other technology-based disciplines.
“Scholarships change lives, especially for students and families of color and under-represented communities,” said Carly Rhodeside, executive director and director of sales operations at Wildflower Communications. “Wildflower was born, raised and thrived in Northern New Mexico. Creating a gift with Dell Technologies with our friends is a way for us to celebrate those roots together and give them a direct future. It’s very exciting.
Scholarship recipients are selected by the Los Alamos Employee Scholarship Fund (LAESF) Advisory Committee and approved by the Board of Directors of the LANL Foundation.
The goals of Dell Technologies / Wildflower International Scholarship Fund reflect Dell’s initiative to “transform the life of technology” and to improve the quality of education in the world.
Jenny Parks, President and CEO of the LANL Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Wald Flower International, an internationally accessible local company, and Dell Technologies. We are very grateful for the generosity of these two companies. It is rare for two international companies to invest in our students in Northern New Mexico, but our students know how talented they are – and a paid scholarship can make a difference in whether students can achieve their dreams. This scholarship opportunity will benefit many students in our area who are interested in STEM careers and will have an impact on the lives of our region over the next decade. Scholarships change lives.
