A mega expo showcasing major developments, achievements and contributions to society will be a special attraction at the 108th Indian Science Congress to be held in Nagpur on January 3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address via video conference. The office said earlier on Sunday.

The main theme of this year’s ISC is “Science and Technology with Women’s Empowerment for Sustainable Development”, PMO said.

The 108th Annual Session of ISC will be held at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj University, Nagpur, which is also celebrating its centenary year this year.

The ISC technical sessions are divided into 14 sessions and parallel sessions will be held at different locations in the University’s Mahatma Yotiba Phule Education Campus, a varsity statement said.

Apart from these 14 sections, the plenary will include Nobel laureates, Indian and foreign researchers, experts and technocrats from various fields of space, defence, IT and medical research.

The technical events will showcase groundbreaking and applied research in various fields of science, the statement said.

“The special attraction of the event is the mega expo ‘Pride of India’. Famous developments, major achievements and significant contributions of Indian science and technology to the society will be showcased in the exhibition.”

“‘Pride of India’ showcases the strengths and achievements of government, corporate, PSUs, academic and R&D institutes, innovators and entrepreneurs from across the country,” the statement added.
