The Caribbean’s largest travel conference is set to head to San Juan, Puerto Rico next month.

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace, the region’s travel industry’s premier gathering place, is holding its first in-person edition since the pandemic began.

This year’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace will be held October 3-5 at the San Juan, Puerto Rico Convention Center.

It is the main message of the rebirth of Caribbean tourism.

Indeed, much of the Caribbean is seeing record-breaking tourism numbers, with many destinations now surpassing pre-pandemic peak occupancy levels.

This year’s Caribbean Travel Market focused on bringing suppliers and buyers together, with 14,270 more than previously scheduled, with 350 supplier firms signed and 168 buyer firms confirmed.

Delegates from 28 different countries and 19 home markets, totaling more than 1,125 representatives.

The early popularity of this year’s event has led the CHTA to begin planning for the 2023 edition, which is targeted for the second quarter of next year or so.

“The trade association’s distinct buzz this year is undoubtedly the demand for in-person, face-to-face interactions between buyers and sellers and the demand for a better consumer travel experience following two years of pandemic and lockdowns,” CHTA said in a statement.

Registration remains open.
