HP’s new 4K business webcam uses AI to keep your entire team in the frame

HP has a new webcam and uses AI to keep you and your foster guests engaged during meetings. The $199.99 HP 965 4K Streaming Webcam is the company’s new business-oriented model featuring a Sony Starvis CMOS sensor, similar in specs (and price) to Dell’s 4K webcam offerings, the Elgato Fascicam and Razer’s Kiyo Pro. The Home Office 960 edition is available in white, but has the same specs, and after initially appearing on HP’s website at a $50 discount, the 960 is now identical to the 965, according to HP spokeswoman Christine Wahl.

Those webcams have similar tracking capabilities, as do the Logitech StreamCam (one of the best webcams our colleague Cameron tested) and Apple’s Center Stage. The company calls this camera tracking for “more thoughtful and human collaboration technology” as part of HP Presence devices and must be connected to a host PC running HP’s Add Center software to run. Assuming you like the result and choose HP’s new monitor with IPS Black, for example, on the Z24m with an integrated webcam and the same technology, it’s another way to set it up on your desk or in your office.

HP has placed an 18mm f/2.0 lens on the front, and the camera can record 4K at 30fps or FHD at 60fps. The company says the camera offers “true-to-life” viewing with color correction and HDR capabilities. Similar to the Dell 2K webcam, there are also dual microphones that provide better noise reduction and clarity.

The webcam can be mounted on your monitor, tripod or any surface. It comes with a privacy cover and a portable USB-A cable. It also has a 360-degree swivel and a top hinge that can tilt the camera 90 degrees downwards. Keystone adjustment effect can be applied when presenting documents with camera during presentation.
