Houston’s Isaac & Moore fashion founder charged with defrauding investors out of $600,000

Houston – A Houston fashion entrepreneur has been indicted and may face additional charges filed by several investors after being accused of defrauding him of more than $600,000.

Isaac Donta Moore, aka “Isaac Moore” is the CEO and founder of Isaac & Moore Fashion. He is known for his “Box Experiences,” gifting specially decorated and branded boxes to celebrities such as Usher, DJ Khaled and Meghan the Stallion.

According to Harris County court documents, a woman, Jodi Covington, of Covington, Georgia, killed Moore in 2011. She said he met her in Florida on March 16, 2022 and said they discussed investing in the company and launching the new designer line. In the year On March 22, 2022, she entered into a contract with Moore to purchase the new “Space City” set for $20,000, which is said to be launched on March 29, 2022. The $20,000 investment in Covington was to purchase the materials to manufacture and ship the set to launch.

Documents also state that Moore agreed to pay Covington $255 for each bag sold from the collection. Under one contract, she was entitled to a total of $45,000 upon sale of the bag from the collection. If Moore does not complete the collection or the sale is not secured, Covington is entitled to $20,000, payable within 120 days of the date of the investment, the contract states.

Records show Moore moved his March 29, 2022 release date to July, then to Dec. 18, 2022, and then rehired on Feb. 5, 2023, which never happened.

According to court records, Covington made several phone calls during that time to find out when the items would arrive. Moore allegedly stopped responding and failed to return her investment money.

Covington filed a police report on Dec. 20, 2022 for theft by deception/fraud.

The police report leads to the discovery of more and similar cases

According to a statement released by Brand Collection Group, Moore will likely face additional charges including wire fraud, bank fraud, a Ponzi scheme and theft.

Court documents show he used the same method to take money for services not provided.

Several are currently working on three cases to register with Moore and the investors involved in the business. So far, more than 17 victims from different regions have submitted official reports.

Houston area cases are prosecuted.

One charge was filed by Harris County and three by the Houston Police Department. The total amount of theft reported in Houston area cases is over $142,000.

Documents show two pending cases of theft between $2,500 and $30,000 in Harris County for incidents that allegedly occurred on Dec. 16, 2021, and another on June 15, 2021.

Criminal records show Moore has 11 pending traffic violations from four different agencies in Harris County, including driving without a valid driver’s license and no insurance.

Investors say they were defrauded

When I supported Isaacs and Moore, I believed I was investing in a hardworking individual. “However, Moore took advantage of our contractual agreement, my goodwill and trust, misappropriating the $20,000 associated with it,” said Jodi Lewis, public relations and marketing specialist.

Another defrauded investor, Rosa Rutter, said, “Mr. Moore violated our written agreement and did not respond to multiple attempts to obtain my $12,000 investment. I filed a criminal report with Harris County in hopes of holding him accountable and preventing others from experiencing the same situation.

Joseph Michel, who said he invested $40,000 in Isaac & Moore LLC, shared a similar story. Moore alleges that he terminated the relationship after failing to deliver investment returns as agreed upon.

Anthony Beverly, a prominent investor, reported losing $172,000 to Moore’s scam.

“After I transferred the money, Moore did not respond and removed my name from the business account, effectively stealing my investment,” Beverly said.

According to the lawsuit, Moore defrauded numerous individuals across the United States out of a total of approximately $600,000, Brand Development Group said in a release.
