STEUBENVILLE — The Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority met on Feb. 7 at Malara Hall in Steubenville.

President Linda Lenzi welcomed members, and Debbie Wells, hostess, introduced guest speaker Deanna Rock, a nurse practitioner with a local cardiologist. Rock presented a program and distributed information on blood pressure. She ended the program with a question-and-answer session on heart health.

Chaplain Pam Fithen read “A Prayer for Valentine’s Day.”

Lenzi presided at the business meeting where Treasurer Teresa Nicholson presented her report and noted the success of the Christmas auction. Kathy Henry, altruistic chairman, collected the tallies of volunteer hours of members in attendance.

As part of fraternity education, the members completed a page of word scrambles based on ADK. Money was collected for the A.L.I.V.E. Shelter.

World Understanding Chairman Peggy Pyle asked for prayers for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. Lenzi also asked for prayers for ADK members who are unable to attend meetings for various reasons.

Hostesses for the Valentine’s Day-themed meeting aside from Wells was Janice McClain.

The sorority’s next meeting will be held March 7 at Malara Hall in Steubenville, beginning at 6 p.m.
