Google has taken inspiration from the social media story format with a new tool to help travelers explore hotels.
The search engine has added an alternative tool for mobile users to simplify their hotel search on Google Travel.
In a swipe-up format similar to Instagram Stories, users can view hotel options with access to information such as location, reviews, and price. The user can directly go to the hotel website to save or book the hotel. Alternatively, users can select view lists and get paid bookings from various online travel agency and hotel partners.
Users can find a chorus of stories by searching for hotels directly on the mobile version of Travel.google.com, then tapping a row of hotel photos. Or, after searching for a hotel in the standard mobile Google search, scroll and tap the option to view all results. Then tap on a row to view hotel photos in story format.
Then swipe left and right to view photos and other information for a hotel, and swipe up and down to view a specific hotel.
Unlike Instagram Stories, Hotel Stories on Google do not automatically promote.
The previous ways to see the results are still available; This is another option for those who prefer a different format.
“Choosing the right place to stay can make or break a trip, but it’s not always an easy process. There are a lot of things to consider – from location to reviews to price. And that’s a lot, especially if you’re trying to do all this research on your phone,” Google said. He said in a blog post.
Google has brought back its price guarantee program for flights after it was shut down by the pandemic last fall. Google is testing the program, and it remains to be seen what its future holds.
The Flight Price Guarantee pilot program has been rolled out across the U.S. Although Google plans to extend the program, it will have to go beyond the limit where a traveler can only book a flight on Google, a feature the company is committed to. to stop Google needs to find a solution to that issue, whether through an airline partnership or otherwise.
Meanwhile, Google launched a major strike earlier this year involving Google Flights, and it’s unclear how and if this is part of a larger strategy.
