Geothermal startup founders speak at SOSV Climate Tech Summit

Geothermal startup founders Carlos Arak and Kathy Hanun will speak on a panel at the SOSV Climate Tech Summit on October 25-26, 2022.

Carlos Arake of Quays Energy and Kathy Hanunu of Dandelion Energy join the SOSV Climate Tech Summit on Rethinking and Expanding Geothermal. The event runs from October 25 to 26 and registration for virtual attendance is free. Registration is still open through this link.

The SOSV Climate Tech Summit is an event that brings together founders, investors, technologists, corporates and policy makers from the climate technology startup ecosystem. The event recognizes the role of climate technology startups in fighting climate change and pushing the boundaries of science and technology to help decarbonize the economy.

Quetzal Gyroron – A drill that uses microwave radiation to bore holes through rock and reaches 20 kilometers below the Earth’s surface. Quetzal aims to have a working system in place by 2026 and “regenerate” the fossil fuel with geothermal steam by 2028.

Born in X, Alphabet’s Moonshot factory, Dandelion brings geothermal heating and cooling to homes. Dandelion’s proprietary drills make holes a few inches wide, reducing the cost to users and the impact on their property.
