From Nursing to Biotechnology, Dixie Tech Health Care Science Programs Now Registered – St George’s News

Contributed Content – Summer teams from Dixie Technical College are coming for various health science programs. These include medical assistance, nursing assistants and practice nursing, as well as a new program in biotechnology.

Medical assistance

Medical assistance is a good way to communicate with patients who love the medical field. Medical assistants play an important role in every medical office, they are skilled in the front office or back office, to support every aspect of the process, making them an important member of the team.

The next Medical Assistance Team will begin August 15, with daily classes Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant Program prepares students to enter professional nursing as CNA. This is a prerequisite for anyone looking for a nursing job. Kindness and compassion are unspecified preconditions for the program, which includes quick and many practical learning opportunities. There are currently more than 100 vacancies for nursing assistants in Washington County alone.

There are several incoming nursing assistants. Classes begin August 15, Monday and Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Those classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 7 ፡ 3030-9.

On August 23, Accelerated Team will begin Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Practical nursing

The Practice Nursing Program prepares students to take the NCLEX test to become a licensed practice nurse. Licensed practical nurses are in high demand in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, nursing and rehabilitation facilities, home health and hospice. An important member of the nursing team, practical practice nursing is the next step in a respected nursing career.

The next practical nursing team will begin on October 3 as the evening class. A CNA certificate is required to enroll in this program.

Biotechnology

This exciting new field explores the interconnectedness of technology and living things. This includes finding better ways to deliver medicine, creating better treatments, understanding laboratory techniques, improving nutrition, using technology to help rehabilitate and even create artificial limbs.

The next group of biotechnology will begin on September 26 and lessons will be held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. 30 am to 2 p.m. 30 p.m.

Each of these programs at Dixie Tech is available to current high school students.
