It’s curtain call for fashion designer Coffee Chantal in the mystery comedy “Murder on the Runway” on August 26 and August 28 at 2pm at Frapple Box Theatre, Friendswood.
said Cathy Holbrook, founder of the theater arts.
“Richard Gremmel’s script involves a fashion show, but it’s primarily about everyone’s relationship with the designer, and a detective works to solve the murder,” said show director Amy Kells.
Tickets are $15.
Among the suspects are the names of the characters’ real fashion celebrities. They include Tyra Binks, Heidi Plume, Cindy Clawford and Tim Gum.
The cast includes Kaidin Jones, Sierra Small, Ally Johnson, Raya Hewitt, Kat Richards, Jacob Waters, Morgan Yoice, Megan Tanner, Sam Cooke, Stellan Donohoe, Moxie Delgado, Walter Hough, Ethan Trana, Sophie Honeicht, Kellyn Howe, Melissa Strangis. And Charlie Hayden.
Kelce is a 1996 graduate of Alvin High School, where she danced on the Jacket drill team. She attended College of the Mainland before completing her master’s degree in industrial organizational psychology.

Growing up, Keels took lessons and performed at the Purple Box.
“It was a big part of my development, so I’m glad to be back this year,” she said.
Her son, 12-year-old Cameron Kelce, often performs at the Purple Box, although he’s not in “Runway Killing.”
“Cameron’s dream is to be a voice actor, but he loves being on stage,” she said. “Purple Box Theater helped him grow as an actor and gave him the confidence to continue acting. During his time at Purple Box, he found a supportive and encouraging community of actors, which only enriched his experience.”
‘Twelve Angry Jurors’ is set for September.
Amy Kells’ next project is directing the theater’s Sept. 16-26 production of “Twelve Angry Jurors” with an accomplished cast.
She will choreograph the musical “Annie,” starring Purple Box, at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta next year.
“Annie” stars Aubrey Stephens, Andy Roberts, Kailynn Scott, Caidyn Jones and Jaxson Carr.
