Finer Plus will affect travel to Dubai (effective immediately)

[ad_1]

From September 1, 2022, Finnair Plus has changed Dubai’s classification to “Rest of Europe” with other long-haul destinations.

This is the highest number of Finnair Plus points earned on fares from/to Dubai, but the number of points required for award tickets has increased. Located in the Middle East, Tel Aviv is still considered part of “the rest of Europe.”

You can find Finer Plus here.

Income points

Frontier Plus members now earn top points on flights to Dubai.

Using points

The number of points required for Economy and Business Class awards has tripled.

Improving

Now you have to use 50,000 points instead of 10,000 to upgrade using points coming to Dubai.

Conclusion

You could say that this change is inevitable since the reason Tel Aviv and Dubai are so close to Europe has more to do with the tools used there (shorter distances) than the actual distance. Finnair also used widebodies on its flights to Dubai.

It was also inconceivable that the Helsinki-Dubai flights from Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm to Doha (new routes – not yet on the award charts) could have been considered short-haul.

However, advance notice of this change to Finnair Plus members was great.
