Expanded farm night comes to earth protection

Charlotte Land Trust partners with Farm for Event.

Vermont Business Magazine Earthkeep Farmcommon’s weekly “Farm Night” – a farmer’s market featuring goods produced by a group of sustainable and earth-friendly farmers – Thursday, Aug. 18, 4-7 p.m., in partnership with Charlotte-based EarthKeep Farm Common. The evening offers local, sustainable food, an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about Charlotte Land Trust’s efforts to protect land and support farmers.

Farms have been important to the city of Charlotte since its inception. In recent years, however, the agricultural industry has changed and faced many challenges – both locally and nationally. The Charlotte Land Trust works to better understand those issues and how land stewardship can play a role in strengthening and promoting agriculture in the community.

A small, volunteer-based organization, the Charlotte Land Trust values ​​authentic conversations with real Vermonters and local landowners, according to its website. The organization prioritizes local outreach to inform others about the ways conservation impacts Vermont’s environment and landscapes.

The Trust is a perfect example of the upcoming Farm Night collaboration with Earthkeep. In addition to Earthkeep Farmcommon farmers, several Charlotte farmers who sell from their farms will be participating.

Grass Beef Company – Premium grass-fed beef using regenerative practices

Outdoor Farming – Seasonal, organic vegetables and herbs

Horsford Gardens and Nursery – trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and herbs

Paradiso Farm – Farm Roasted Coffee

Philo’s Fields

Philo Ridge Farms – Certified organic, nutritious foods grown in low-lying soils

Rose Garritano Bakery

Safe Haven Honey – Local Honey

Dessert – Fermented artisan kimchi, sauerkraut, curtido and more.
