After launching her own brand in partnership with Revolve Group last week, Elsa Hosk appears in the new GCDS ads, featuring the former Victoria’s Secret Angel for the emotional muse of 2022.

In the role, Hosk joins the likes of Pamela Anderson, Caroline Vreeland and “Elite” star Aaron Piper, all of whom have previously fronted campaigns for the hip Italian brand.

In the colorful images photographed by Pierre-Ang Carlotti and dropped on Tuesday, Hosk is pictured wearing a hot-pink mesh jacket and the collection’s key accessories, including logo fur boots and a hat in matching shades of pink with thigh-high vinyl boots. Heel in the shape of a fang. Dubbed “Morso” or “Bit” in English, the latter style is undeniably the season’s key item, causing a buzz on social media when it was first unveiled on the GCDS runway in Milan in February.

At the time, the brand’s creative director Giuliano Calza explained the inspiration behind the collection, revealing that he watched a lot of movies during the pandemic, and Bram Stoker’s 1992 film “Dracula” was one of them. So he decided to give the gothic tale and costumes his own fantasy, fetish-y twist.

In keeping with the show and the collection, the ad campaign echoes the theme of the season with some props as well. These include a bed reminiscent of Dracula’s box, while Hosk sleeps alongside the new GCDS bag “Coma”, inspired by its design’s asymmetrically curved flap.

Shot in Paris, the images offer a generous dose of high-end beauty. Conceived by makeup artist Masae Ito and hairstylist Tomohiro Ohashi, these looks combine everything from old Hollywood makeup and hair waves to Gen Z-friendly, pop eye makeup with layers of neon yellow and hot-pink.

By the way, GCDS also introduced children’s clothing, a cosmetic line developed by Intercos in 2018. The following year, the company expanded its offerings by signing a five-year license with Marcolin.

As reported, Kalza introduced a capsule collection with Wolford earlier this year. Other collaborations range from Barilla to Bratz, and all honor GCDS’ signature funk and pop ethos.

GCDS, an acronym for “God Can’t Destroy Streetwear,” was founded by Calza and his brother Giordano in 2015. Launched as a digital project, it turned into a fashion company, holding its first runway show in June 2016 in Milan. The show also ended with a spectacular performance, where Mason was stopped by Travis Barker on his last walk and Barker entertained the audience live as the models took their last lap.

Hilfiger’s front row was one of the most famous of the week, which is saying something given the number of celebrities who returned to New York Fashion Week.
