“I help business owners and professionals make a difference,” Phillips said. “One of my favorite things about being an image consultant is helping people find the perfect color palette.”
Phillips’ knack for combining colors spills over into her personal style, which she describes as classic, modern and simple. Due to her severe scoliosis, she is always very concerned about what she wears, as everything does not sit straight on her. However, her keen attention to how to dress led her to develop a love for fashion.
Phillips wanted to share her strategy on social media to visually inspire others. on her Instagram page, you’ll find curated fashion shows, photos of Buna and her timeless outfits. Her use of blue and tape, her signature color, also gives her food a unique personal touch.
“I like to inspire people on social media to wear what they love,” Phillips said.
As for summer fashion tips, Phillips recommends checking out the latest fashion weeks to see what designers are bringing to the forefront of the industry. She also notes some of the trends she’s noticed recently, such as tropical floral prints, ethnic jewelry, and creative background designs on eaters or dresses.
Koya Nyangi: Advocacy for African fashion
First from Kenya, Koya Nyangi He has made waves in Denver as a freelance fashion PR professional, as well as a global representative for African fashion brands and designers.

While Melgar is known for his old-school outfits, his summer looks embrace the streetwear side of his style, which he describes as organic hip hop. His appreciation for accessories is evident throughout, but here he chose to accent his outfit with aviator sunglasses, a vintage watch and a neon green hat. He paired his gray vans with bandana printed socks to spice up the look.
“I feel like the whole look is somewhat Magnum PIV with a modern hip hop spin,” says Melgar.
Melgar’s biggest style tip for summer is to stick to an outfit that expresses your individuality and can start a conversation.
“Don’t be a carbon copy of the stranger standing next to you,” says Melgar. “Add an item to every outfit that makes you stand out from the crowd.”
Melgar recommends keeping items in your closet instead of getting rid of them each season, noting that fashion trends always return to the popular zeitgeist.
“No matter what your style is, I think remembering that is absolutely key in fashion. Fashion always repeats itself” said Melgar. “So when cleaning out your closet to make room for new trends, keep your favorite key items.”
Kate Elizabeth Ewalt: Master of Maximalism
Kate Elizabeth Ewalt. She has taken Denver by storm with her extreme fashion sense and raw honesty on social media. As a nonprofit social media coordinator, she uses her creativity and technical skills to make a difference.
Ewoldt’s platform on Instagram stands out as a place for women to have real conversations and share what sparks their creativity. She breaks down the overwhelming pressure women can feel from society about having the perfect career, marriage and family, and inspires through fashion.
“My belief is that fashion and mental health are BFFs! How you feel affects what you wear, and vice versa,” says Ewoldt.
Ewoldt’s style is about mixing patterns and colors to create whimsical looks inspired by concepts like dopamine dressing and highs. She’s a sensible dresser, meaning she wears whatever makes her feel like herself on any given day.
“One day I can be dressed as a princess and the next I can be a Scandinavian-style blogger,” Ewold said. “My wardrobe ranges from sweater dresses to Star Wars tees to skinny jeans to stealing random pieces from my husband’s closet.
Ewoldt’s eclectic taste is evident in her favorite summer look, which reflects what she’s into at the moment. Ruffles, flared dresses and crown-like headpieces had a special place in her heart this summer. She also incorporated sentimental pieces into her look, including a bag hand-painted by a friend. “It’s good to balance your outfit in summer,” says Joseph. “I know it usually gets cold around my arms in the evening, so I usually wear a long sleeve top and shorts or a little dress underneath.”
Joseph’s favorite summer look consists of that balanced silhouette while adding a pop of color to the image. Each piece of clothing was light and breathable while expressing high content. To tie the look together, she opted to accessorize with Steve Madden platform shoes, a clutch tweed bag and matching gold jewellery.
Judith Boyd: Looking at Local Mythology
