1. Boston and the Bluecoats are tied for the second straight day.
The crowd’s reaction to Brandt Crocker announcing his 4th place finish to “And now presenting the silver medals…” was something to experience live. For the second day in a row, the Boston Crusaders and Bluecoats scored 96.975 in the semifinals and then 97.325 in the finals. The Boston-based corps made history by claiming the highest placing in their history, while the Bluecoats finished the season with their second silver medal in back-to-back seasons. The Canton-based corps has managed to make its own history though…
2. The Bluecoats won the Fred Sanford Best Show Award for the first time
After a year-long battle with the Santa Clara Vanguard and Blue Devils, the Bluecoats won their first Fred Sanford Award, edging out their rivals. In previous years, the Canton-based corps has won top honors for GA in the 2016 and 2019 seasons, in addition to the 2016 World Championship title.
3. The Blue Stars finished their 2022 season in a historic way
History was made during DCI’s 50th anniversary. In the year The 2022 Blue Stars made their name in the history books with the highest finish in 45 years with 92.775 wins.
4. The Phantom Regiment lines up for best score since 2016, top score since 2015.
After finishing 9th in both the prelims and semifinals, Phantom Regiment moved up to 8th after a stellar finals run, finishing ahead of the Knights for the first time in 10 years.
5. The Blue Devils have won their 20th World Series Championship, multiple accolades… and will remain undefeated in 2022.
What more can be said about the Blue Devils’ historic season? The corps and their 2022 program, ‘Tempus Blue’, had a successful winter, with the Concord-based corps winning its 20th World Championship title, in addition to awards for top brass, general effects and visual performances.
