CU Boulder announces four finalists for next Dean of Leeds Business School – Boulder Daily Camera

CU Boulder has announced four finalists to serve as Dean of the Leeds School of Business. Campus forums with each finalist will be held over the next two weeks. (file photo)

CU Boulder’s Leeds School of Business has announced four finalists for its next College Dean. The finalists are Sharon Alvarez, Kurt Dierks, Mark Ferguson and Vijay Khatri.

According to the CU Boulder website, Alvarez, who has a Ph.D. from CU Boulder, a Masters from the University of Denver and a Bachelors from CU Denver. She currently holds the Thomas W. Olofsen Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Business. Alvarez will be on campus March 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the Colbel Building on the CU campus.

Dirks is currently a senior advisor to the chancellor at Washington University in St. Louis. He previously served as the university’s interim dean and senior associate dean of the business school and vice chancellor for international affairs, the website reported. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and a Masters and Bachelors from Iowa State. The Dirk Campus Forum will be held on Thursdays at 3:30 pm in the Colbell Building.

Ferguson currently serves as senior associate dean for academics and research at the University of South Carolina School of Business. He previously served as the department chair of the school’s Department of Administrative Sciences. According to the website, he received his Ph.D. from Duke University, a Masters from Georgia Tech and a Bachelors from Virginia Tech. The Ferguson Campus Forum will be held on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. in the Colbell Building.

Khatri currently serves as Associate Dean for Strategy, Innovation and Technology at the Indiana University Bloomington School of Business. He founded and previously served as associate director of the school’s Business Analytics Institute. Khatri holds a PhD from the University of Arizona, an MBA from the University of Bombay and a bachelor’s degree from Malaviya Regional College of Engineering. It will be held on March 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the Colbell Building on the campus stage.
