From edge computing to hyper-automation, and new technologies quickly entering the market, it can be difficult to know which trends are most important to stay on top of.

Round Rock-based tech giant Dell Technologies discussed its products, which ranged from future hybrid networking to online game innovation, and Rakesh Apte, the company’s director of product management and innovation strategy, said companies large and small should be keeping an eye on the tech space that drives innovation in the future. New trends.

“Thinking about the hybrid future and hybrid life, we want to make sure that people, especially those in remote settings or who are permanently at a distance, have the same access to technology,” Apte said at a Startup Week event in Dallas.

Check out some of the most concerning trends and thoughts Apte spoke about below.

Digital transformation

Over the last couple of years, we’re starting to look at this economic situation from a macroeconomic perspective where we’re starting to focus on external mitigation. This is where we see the acceleration of digital transformation that has just begun. We’ve seen a wave of that happen in the last few years. We continue to see industries staying at the forefront of technology and thinking of ways to help reduce costs.

Automation/Artificial Intelligence

Automation is no longer confined to a few industries. We are now seeing automated food in every industry, from manufacturing to retail to healthcare to agricultural services. We see this as part of the great transformation that is taking place. We know that AI will be a key element in helping to increase productivity: by some measures more than 30%. We see growth in technology, automation and worker productivity, so we want to think about how we can make AI a helpful partner for our customers and end users.

Metaverse

XR (extended reality), AR (artificial reality) and VR (virtual reality) technologies have been around for a while, and we’re probably in the second or third wave of some of these technologies. But now we are starting to see a lot of interest from end users and customers to use some of these technologies. Actual experiences around these technologies are improving, but some challenges still remain in terms of privacy, user experience, and how people respond to those environments. For this to be successful, the industry needs to be properly regulated.

Durability

We have a lot of interest from our customers and end-users on how they can do more around their sustainability, carbon footprint and the wider impact they want. We are starting to see more focus on sustainability in the environment. We’re starting to think of solutions and concepts that help end users and help businesses think about their sustainability footprint.
