What do pears and power suits have in common? Both Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen’s latest fashion presentation took the stage for The Help.

On Wednesday, the design duo showcased their Fall/Winter 2023 collection in a special runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Thanks to fashion bloggers and industry professionals, outsiders get to see what goes down in action.

In an Instagram clip shared by fashion journalist Derek Blasberg, models strut the catwalk in the line’s slouchy-chic silhouettes in neutral-colored, monochromatic looks. Collections of oversized trench coats and statement blazers were mixed with daring looks such as a crinkle strapless cut-out dress paired with orange opera gloves. (And as always, the handbags got a starring role.)

“Americans in Paris @therow,” Blasberg captioned the post, which drew comments from Lindsay Lohan and Naomi Watts.

E! Ex Daily Pop Host Morgan Stewart shared snippets from the collection, including a pair of see-through ankle boots.

Makeup artist Pat McGrath shared the models’ glowing looks backstage. According to a press release, McGrath “worked off the set’s modernity” for her bright, clean-faced look.

Waiters in white t-shirts were on hand to provide refreshments to guests during their long days at the fashion show.

On her Instagram stories, Stewart showed off chunks of dark chocolate and beautiful capsules. Show-goers had a choice of water, two types of coffee, Japanese tea and smoothies.

“A little snack after a show is much appreciated,” Stewart wrote in her story.

And the place was an old Parisian building with fine finishes that contrasted with the minimal vibe of the line.

As usual, the Olsen sisters kept a low profile, letting the clothes speak for themselves. After leaving acting, they worked to keep their careers and personal lives separate.

Mary-Kate said: “We are raised to be sensible people Id In a joint interview with her sister last June.

As for the minimal clothes they create, Ashley explains, “I think it’s a potential aesthetic, just our design choices. But that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate something really ornate or over-the-top. Sometimes a collection starts like that. That and then it goes back down. It’s always from that simple place. It won’t start.”

“I think the reason we do fashion is to constantly try to fix our flaws,” says Mary-Kate. “And you have next season to do that. But it’s our job to constantly push ourselves and train our eyes and look for all the flaws to make sure everyone is committed. It’s just growing and learning.”

Ashley added, “I think it was really important for us to stay in control and do things when we felt right. That was the driving force behind the brand and maybe there were some things that sped up, but there were other things that slowed down.”
