CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Names Finalists

The Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue have announced the finalists for the 2023 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.

This year’s finalists are Kim Shui, a name brand designer. Who Decides War’s Everald Best and Téla D’Amore; Zankov designer Henry Zankov; 4SD Designs Angelo Fabricio Urrutia; Rachel Scott of Diotima; Kozaburo Kozaburo Akasaka; Sam Miro, the designer behind Sam Miro Vintage; Melita Baumeister, eponymous designer and Tanner Fletcher Fletcher Cassel and Tanner Ritchie.

This year’s contest will return to its previous format, with the committee awarding $300,000 to one winner and $100,000 to two runners-up. In the year In 2021 and 2022, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund provided financial support and mentoring to the ten finalists in response to the challenges caused by the Covid-19 crisis.

“It’s important to see this new world of American designers,” said CFDA Chairman Tom Brown. “The talent in the United States is for creativity and diversity and beyond that, it’s truly American.”

Brown serving on the selection committee; Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue and global chief content officer for Condé Nast; CFDA CEO Steven Kolb; Eva Chen, Director of Instagram Fashion Partnerships; Model Paloma Elsesser and others.

While the awards are returning to their original format, A Common Thread, the fundraising and storytelling initiative launched in 2020 by the CFDA and Vogue to support designers affected by Covid-19, will continue.
