US Vogue editor Anna Wintour was one of the famous faces fronting Christopher Kane’s latest cat show.
Presenter Alexa Chung and fellow model Poppy Delevingne were among the guests at the London Fashion Week event.
Chung wore a pink dress and gray cardigan from the current Christopher Kane collection.
The Scottish-born designer is known for his edgy approach to fashion.
His autumn/winter collection featured demure and menacing looks inspired by his mother, aunts and neighbors in the 1980s.
Florence Pugh and Alicia Vikander have recently been seen wearing peplum-style dresses, and now Kane is the latest designer to embrace the 2010 trend.
Intended to pay homage to its working-class roots, the collection featured frilled peplums in varying sizes on mini and midi dresses and pencil skirts in wool and patent fabrics.
He added edgy touches to a variety of looks, including a black maxi dress, a form-fitting bodysuit and a loose fit.
In the show notes, Kane explained that the riots were caused by tied bin bags and barmaids’ skirts creating a ‘sultry waddle’.
Some dresses had angled shoulders or ‘sliced plate collars’ (as Kane called them) that framed the models’ faces and rose too high in the back.
After LBDs and matching slays came more colorful designs.
It was a three-piece pink, yellow and gray cheongsam-style gown with bold thigh slits.
They looked like they were made of floral fabric, but on closer inspection there were AI-created pig, chick and mouse prints.
Ken, who has recently dressed A-listers such as Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts and Tracee Ellis Ross, featured signature floral embroidery on dresses and oversized shirts.
