Tell us a little about yourself and your business:

First, I am the proud mother of an amazing 13-year-old boy named Jonathan. In addition to supporting his efforts, I enjoy serving others. Real estate offers such a great opportunity to help individuals and families find their dream home. I was commissioned as an E-5 Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and now a veteran, I was recently inducted into the American Legion Post 383 in Laplace. My service also extends to the beauty industry. I am a Louisiana Licensed Cosmetologist and Cosmetology Educator and I started “Blended Tresses Etc. LLC” that offers a variety of beauty products. Moreover, it is my greatest service as a minister of the gospel. And, last but not least, I get to feed positivity to our youth as a “Highly Qualified” Teaching Assistant in the SJBP STEM Magnet Program.

Who are some role models, and why?

My grandmother’s great strength and wisdom, my mother’s tremendous encouragement are reminders to never stop shooting for the stars no matter the situation, and my sister’s intelligence and success are reminders to constantly walk with purpose. Not to mention, God’s chosen women who influenced my view of what a gracious, faith-filled, good woman looks like.

Why is it necessary to encourage and be an example fOr do other young women want to go into business?

Today it is very important to lead by example and be a relatable woman because the negativity is constant. With that said, encouraging women in business to see other female entrepreneurs not as threats, but as allies in support of other women is critical to our race. While success may look different individually, our vision of “The Woman Who Started…” remains the same. So we (all women) must set standards, acknowledge positive traits, dream, create sustainability and come together to perpetuate the culture of women’s excellence.

What advice would you give?

never give up! No matter how many life situations or hardships you face, follow your unique path and never stop believing in yourself and God’s plan. Now, go and be great!
