The Carson City Historical Society hosts ongoing events every Saturday at the historic Foreman-Roberts House and Carriage House, 1207 North Carson, Carson City.
The Roberts House and Carriage House are open Sundays from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
of If Gauns could talk The exhibition is currently being held at the Foreman-Roberts House. This exhibition covers all fashions – not least in the Edwardian and Victorian styles. The how and why of these fashions, why women gave up their corsets, Find out with the Carson City Photography Exhibit of the early 1900s!
If you are interested in volunteering for this exhibit, the Carson City Historical Society is currently seeking new volunteers. Call (775) 882-2174 for more information.
Inside the carriage house, attendees can find the exhibit. Famous women of Eagle ValleyA display of paintings of “Famous Women by Famous Local Artists”.
Also on display at the exhibit will be a Nevada State Children’s Home, as well as a book by Bonnie Nishikawa called “My Life as a Home Child.”
Finally, the The history of hats From the 1920s and 1930s, longtime historical society member Joe Saulisberry is on display in the Gary House on loan.
The Carson City Historical Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1969 as the Nevada Landmarks Association to help save the Roberts House and other landmarks from demolition. Through volunteer efforts, the Foreman-Roberts House survived. In 2000, we changed our name to the Carson City Historical Society to better serve the public.
