WESTAMPTON, NJ – Over the weekend, the Capital District Fusion 18U national team competed in the FireWick Classic at the West Hampton Sports Complex in New Jersey under coach Rick Tedisco.

Overall, the tournament won 5-2-1 in four days. They lost twice outside of Pennsylvania 3-2 and 3-0. They won the rest of the program except for a 2-2 draw in their first game against the St. Jersey Lightning.
Piler Moira Collins, from Tamarak, was injured during the school year. She put up 10 innings in each of the four games, allowing three runs and producing six. Olivia Detitis (Troy) won 21.1 innings in six races, 15 of them, and the left-hander went 6-4 with a bat.
Maddie Rose (Averill Park) was on a 9-for-15 plate with success in each game. Emily Bowmes (Shane) was 6-to-17, with four stolen bases.
Fioon heads to Atlanta, Georgia from Thursday, July 7 – Sunday, July 10 for another race.
