Union Grove is now a little fuller; There’s a new botox supplier in town. Luxe Injection Boutique opened its doors in Wellness At Wildwood at 4514 Jack Pine Lane in Union Grove, Wisc. A local nurse plans to give community members an outlet to help them feel comfortable in their own skin. The Cosmetic Nursing Practice Boutique strives to create an open dialogue around beauty standards and reduce harmful stigmas.

Owner, Abby Zimmerman, is one of several women-owned businesses including Massage at K, DEW Esthetics and LT Design+ at the Wellness Center. Zimmerman’s Beauty Boutique is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The other businesses vary in their services and hours of operation.

“We all offer different services that complement each other,” says the owner of Luxe Injection Boutique. With first-hand experience in the medical field, Zimmerman feels that not only does the service of other businesses benefit the community, but she also feels like a community member and new business owner.

The presenter grew up in Yorkville, Wisconsin, and continues to live in the village. She attended Union Grove High School and then Alverno College, 3400 S 43rd St., Milwaukee, WI. She graduated in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After graduation, she enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 2100 E. Kenwood Blvd. In the year She completed her doctorate in nursing from UW-M in 2018. She gained experience as a presenter in a traditional setting before establishing her own business for several years.

Although she didn’t receive training in nursing school for these cosmetic nursing practices, she says, “I decided to take a lot of classes and conferences to learn everything I could about it.”

Zimmerman currently balances working in multiple settings, including her own business, while becoming a lifelong learner.

Services offered

Zimmerman, a board-certified family nurse practitioner (DNP, FNP-BC), offers a variety of services in addition to Botox, Skinpen micro-injections, chemical peels and fillers. Similarly, the medical provider sells medical-grade skin care products in a boutique.

The Skinpen micro-injection device is FDA approved for acne scars. Additionally, she sells Skin Better skin care products. They are FDA approved and sold only by licensed physicians like Zimmerman.

Fillers can be injected on the lips, cheeks, jawline and other spots to enhance a person’s beauty. Botox can help with fine lines and wrinkles and smooth the lines on the body.

“What I love about it is that everyone is so happy and excited to be there,” Zimmerman says. “Of course, I help people feel better in the hospital – whether they are sick or have surgery – from a different point of view, it’s something that makes people feel better in their own skin and feel more confident.”

She describes her services as anti-aging, melasma, acne, sun damage, and just as importantly, boosting confidence. Potential clients should note that her business services are not covered by insurance. Zimmerman offers appointments to meet for counseling.
