FARGO – Liquidation sales have begun at West Acres Area Bed & Bath and Beyond Shop and BABY Shop.
“Thank you to all our loyal customers. We have made the difficult decision to begin downsizing our operations,” the company announced in a Facebook post on Monday, April 24 across all stores.
The Fargo store at 4340 13th Ave. S. is among the 360 Bed Bath & Beyond and 120 Shop BABY stores that will remain after the early closings.
The company stopped accepting coupons and Welcome Rewards+ offers on Wednesday, April 26.
Big Lotus Inc. announced Thursday, April 27, that Bed Base & Beyond will accept coupons at any of its stores through May 7, 2023. Any shopper who presents any bed bath and coupon will receive 20% off a total purchase of $50 or more. More.
Gift cards, gift certificates and loyalty certificates are valid through May 8.
For items purchased prior to April 23rd, returns will be accepted by May 24th as per the Company’s normal policy.
The sale is part of a Chapter 11 filing announced Sunday, April 23, by New Jersey-based Bed Bath & Beyond.

ND reported an unemployment rate of 2.5% in March
BISMARCK – Employment Services North Dakota reported the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.5% in March, a slight 0.1 percentage point decrease from February’s figure.
Using the seasonally adjusted rate, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that North Dakota’s unemployment rate is 2.1 percent. Tied with Nebraska, the mark was good for the second-lowest in the nation, behind South Dakota’s 1.9% unemployment rate. In February, both Dakotas had the lowest unemployment rates in the nation, the BLS reported.
A total of 378 North Dakotans found work in March, bringing the state’s total number of unemployed individuals to 10,495. Year-over-year unemployment fell by 0.2 percentage points from last March to March 2023.
Neighboring Minnesota posted a 2.8% unemployment rate for March, down slightly from the 3% rate the state posted in February.
Nationally, the unemployment rate for the month was 3.5 percent. Nevada has the nation’s highest unemployment rate at 5.5 percent. Alabama, Arkansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Montana, West Virginia and Wisconsin each set state record lows in numbers since 1976.
Both Fargo and Grand Forks posted year-over-year jobless growth, adding 4,200 and 1,400 jobs, respectively. Bismarck reported 100 job losses over the year.

An MSUM graduate was named SBA’s Minnesota Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Former Minnesota State University Moorhead student Garrett Larson has been selected as the 2023 Small Business Administration Minnesota District Young Entrepreneur.
Larson is the owner and operator of Ronnings, an apparel, outdoor, footwear and gift retailer with four stores in Minnesota. Ronning has locations in International Falls, Baudette, Rosesaw and Thief River Falls. According to a news release from the SBA, Larson is looking to open a fifth ronning store in either Park Rapids or Detroit Lakes.
Larson’s parents In 2001 they purchased the International Falls store and in 2003 opened the Baudette store.
In the year In 2016, Larson graduated from MSUM with a degree in business administration and after graduation began managing individual stores full-time. In the year In 2017, Larsen led the opening of the Rosetown store. In 2020, he purchased the remaining stock and became an owner and operator.
“Achieving success for small businesses of any age is an accomplishment that should be recognized,” SBA District Director Brian McDonald said in a press release.
