Mallorca, the largest island in Spain, is one of the most popular tourist destinations. Now, for the first time, Americans can fly directly from the United States to the Spanish island.
United Airlines has launched its regular service from New York (EWR) to Palma de Mallorca (PMI). The airline can carry up to 204 passengers on Boeing 767-300 three times a week.
So far, Americans from the US have not been able to fly directly to the famous island, often making long journeys to the mountains of Spain, such as Barcelona and Madrid.
Thanks to United’s pioneering route, the two continents are closer than ever.
United Airlines will continue to operate services from New York to Palma de Mallorca.
In 2019, some 30,000 people indirectly flew to New York via New York. It is one of New York’s lowest-cost destinations without a steady flight, prompting United to take the final step and integrate the new line into its wider network.

Immunized Americans
If you are not fully vaccinated, you can enter Spain by submitting one of the following documents.
- Documents confirming that you have had a PCR test within 72 hours of departure or that you have had a rapid antigen test within 24 hours.
- Proof of recovery from Covd-19 in the last 6 months.
Unvaccinated Americans must complete a QR code before traveling to Spain, which can be obtained through the Spanish Travel Health Portal.
Teenagers up to the age of 12 should not show immunizations, a certificate of rehabilitation or a negative covide test.
Vaccination is not required for any American.
The United States is expanding its network across Europe.
This summer, United’s ongoing network expansion on the continent is making a big bet on a consistent and significant travel demand for Europe.
The airline has recently started operating between New York and Tenerife. Providing another direct route for American travelers between the United States and another Spanish island.
The airline will have three weekly flights between the two cities, providing 507 seats per week.
This summer, United launched a direct service between New York and Norway, connecting the two cities for the first time in six years.
The airline launched services between New York and Dubrovnik Croatia, making it the only non-stop flight between the US and Croatia.
