Vermont Business Magazine Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees presented nearly $12,000 in gifts to six nonprofit organizations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont from the bank’s employee-led philanthropy program, Casual for A Cause. Recipients of donations, all collected in Q2 2022, are: Hancock County Hospice Volunteers, Island Health and Wellness Foundation, People’s Place and Trekkers (Maine). VNA and Hospice of Sunapee Region (New Hampshire); and Attitude Change (Vermont).
“Our employees are passionate about helping our neighbors, whether it’s supporting initiatives to expand health care services or empowering young people to be positive agents of change,” said Jack Frost, vice director of community giving at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. “Every dollar donated through Casual for a Cause is a testament to our employees’ commitment to building stronger communities for all.”
In exchange for a bi-weekly payroll deduction for a quarterly pool of money, bankers who participate in Cause for Cause will dress naked on Fridays. Employees vote on nonprofit organizations to receive their contributions. In the year Since its launch in 2018, employees have donated more than $175,000.
