You may be used to seeing artworks mounted on the bright white walls of a gallery or museum. But when the pieces are deliberately placed in an environment that resonates with their beauty, they suddenly take on a new life. That was the idea behind it. at Rose HouseA new exhibit at art and design fair Thing and Thing in collaboration with furniture design studio Green River Project LLC. at Rose House Object & Object has recently extended its practice of organizing exhibitions in the homes of historical artists and architects. In this example, you can see furniture made by the Green River Project and the fashion label Bode (whose designer Emily Adams Bode is a frequent collaborator with Green River People), Charles and Ray Eames, and Michelle Oka Donner. Inside the home of contemporary landscape architect James Rose. Rose’s self-designed and handcrafted residence is preserved in Ridgewood, New Jersey. “[Green River Project LLC founders] Aaron Aujla and Ben Blumtein have been talking about Rose for a long time, and we started the process of developing this exhibition a year ago,” said Abby Bangser, Founder and Creative Director of Thing & Thing. w”There is a common spirit between Rose and Green River Project LLC to recognize a design challenge and make it work. Rose often takes salvaged doors and turns the doors into chairs, or maybe a railroad tie chair. Thinking clearly about what this material could be is what I see in Green River Project LLC as well.

“I think the sense of community was important, and we felt the same way with Rose’s work,” Ojla said, adding the diverse lineup of artists featured in it. at Rose House. “It was also important to have different types of subjects and work materials. I think that Rose did not give any particular creative department more than the other, it shows in his work and his collected works. We want to keep that spirit alive.
