Chat GPT3, an artificial intelligence bot, outperformed some Ivy League students on a final exam at Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Terwiesch said in the paper that the AI system “does an amazing job on basic operations management and process analysis questions, including those based on case studies.”
“Not only are the answers correct, but the explanations are excellent,” he continued.
Tewiesch, however, showed that the AI system made some basic math errors at a sixth-grade level.
“In relatively simple calculations at the 6th grade math level, GPT3 Chat sometimes makes surprising errors. These errors can be quite large,” he wrote.

Furthermore, while the AI system did well with more basic operations questions, the machine struggled to achieve high scores as the content became more complex.
The Wharton professor noted that these revelations highlight the unique challenges and opportunities that come with AI and the need for schools to revise their academic policies and curricula accordingly.
