WESTBOROUGH – The Economic Development Committee has launched Westboro, an online business directory store.

It aims to promote local businesses and make it easier for residents and visitors to shop in the area.

The directory is made up of 164 retail, sales and service business listings and allows users to search the listings by keyword, location, industry and number of minority-, women- or veteran-owned businesses.

Efforts to create the directory began in March 2021 when the city began participating in the state Department of Housing and Community Development’s Local Rapid Recovery Program.

The city plan was finalized last September. One of the recommendations was for the city to create an online business directory, which was then prioritized for implementation by staff.

Westboro later received a $25,000 grant from the Regional Economic Development Corporation grant program administered by the 495/Metro West Partnership.

The city later hired 3 Media Web to help design and implement the portal.

Westborough businesses can still add themselves to the directory by filling out a form at https://www.shopwestboroughma.com/add-your-business/ Visit https://www.shopwestboroughma.com/ to access the directory.
