A string of unexplained U-Haul thefts has Dinwiddie business owners frustrated.

Dinwiddie County, Va. – Security cameras in Dinwiddie County caught a woman driving a large U-Haul truck and removing items from the porches of two businesses.

She hit him not just once but twice and made no attempt to remain silent or hide her identity.

In the wee hours of last Wednesday, surveillance cameras captured the not-so-subtle music of a U-Haul.

“She was in a big U-Haul, like you move your house,” said Tanya Hale, an employee of Hale Electric Services.

The car went off Route 460 in Dinwiddie County to Hale Electric Service. The driver rushes out and loads the stolen items from the store’s porch.

Earlier, surveillance cameras picked up the same woman at a different business.

“The lady decided to drive by and steal everything from the front porch,” said Jessica Roberts, an employee of Mirror on the Wall. “The ferns hanging over there. I mean, the only thing left is the rug.”

Jessica said the woman was holding a bathtub as well as furniture.

“There were a couple of chairs, trash cans, a couple of tables, some decorative planters and things like that,” Roberts said.

Surveillance cameras showed him quickly getting in and out.

“The most amazing thing was when they were sitting in our attached chairs, swinging their legs, drinking soda, smoking cigarettes and just having fun for a minute. It was really weird,” Hale said.

The owner of Mirror on the Wall posted two pictures of the store in Crewe after posting about the theft on social media. The woman was involved in a verbal altercation at the facility which led to the images being taken.

Businesses affected by burglaries in Dinwiddie County believe she is the same woman captured on their surveillance tapes.

“A light blue shirt with a big smile, no argument, yeah, it’s the same,” Hale said.

Sources told CBS6 the U-Haul was returned as stolen on August 1st from Charlotte, North Carolina.

“It’s definitely depressing to think that someone would get in a car and decide, oh, I’m going to steal everything off this woman’s porch,” Roberts said.

“I want to see her back, I want to see her pay for what she did,” Hale said.
