Nina Mooney has made the brave decision to sell her house to invest in retail space in the center of Shrewsbury.

Nina, who now runs Slowgaze Studios in Rushill Bank, just off Pride Hill, said: “It’s always been my passion to create unique clothing and sell it in my own shop – I can’t believe I’ve achieved it.

Her business focuses on custom-made clothing and accessories that ‘tell a story’.

“We turn ordinary clothes like t-shirts, shirts, hoodies and sweatpants into beloved items that can be individually decorated with inspirational words and quotes – pasted on the front, artfully written on drawstring or hidden inside with a heart,” he explains. Nina, a former top fashion student, was chosen to show her final year collection with Stella McCartney.

She is assisted in Sloan’s business by daughters Izzy, a model and graphic designer, working on typography and printmaking, and Grace, behind the photography and styling for their fashion shoots.

“Together we share a love for fashion, art and self-expression and so far our designs have been well received for being unique, practical and stylish,” says Nina, allowing her to downsize her home. Three-year contract in the retail premises.

She also purchased a variety of equipment such as heat presses, vinyl cutters, industrial embroidery machines and transfer printers that enable her to turn out her products on the same day; These include wallets and key rings.

Customers can request their own photographs or designs to be printed on her clothes and Nina is developing ranges focused on niche sectors such as the cycling and equestrian market.

She added: “I’m delighted to be one of Shrewsbury’s biggest independent shops – it’s an amazing town with amazing retailers.

“I’m delighted to say that I’m building a strong customer base from across the county and across Europe – people appreciate being able to buy something original designed right here in Shropshire.”
