A model has gone viral for cutting her Prada Fashion Week dress

This week the internet is divided over s*%t: model and influencer Madeleine White’s DIY head-to-toe Prada outfit, which she wore to the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 runway show in Milan.

As documented on White’s social media channels, Prada sent the content creator — known for her fashion videos, which often feature her creatively repurposing old items from her wardrobe — to dress the latest fashion week outing. The ensemble in question was a gray jumpsuit, from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection that retails for $2,100.

While most of them handled designer clothes with great care, White had different plans. She grabbed a pair of scissors, Julia Fox style, and cut the onesie down the middle, turning it into a mini crop top and miniskirt (the Miu Miu collection is rocking.) Not letting any scraps of fabric go to waste, she repurposed the legs of her white jumpsuit as leg warmers.

It was certainly a bold move on White’s part to ditch the clothes designed by none other than Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons — and her decision to take to the new Prada scissors has sparked mixed reactions online.

While some are hailing the influencer’s DIY outfit as genius, others are decrying its raw edge for looking “messy” and “cheap.”

What about Prada, its founder and Simons? They’re all for it: According to White’s comments on TikTok, she got permission from the brand before cutting into ‘Fitness’.

Obviously, White’s danger is planted. Documenting the daring DIY, her Tiki Tok boasts nearly 500,000 “likes,” proving to be one of Milan Fashion Week’s most viral moments.
