Amsterdam-headquartered management consulting firm BearingPoint has hired Brian Knudsen as senior manager of business development to help drive the company’s US growth.
Based at the firm’s US headquarters in Chicago, Knudsen brings more than two decades of software sales experience with a focus on SaaS solutions for legal, enterprise and government clients.
Most recently, he spent a year and a half as a sales executive at Solify, where he sold SaaS leasing solutions to Fortune 500 organizations. Prior to that, Knudsen spent 20 years at Thomson Reuters, holding increasingly important software sales roles. He later served as a sales executive for 3E, a law firm managing, productivity and financial solutions.
Knudsen has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Kansas.
Knudsen will focus on expanding BearingPoint’s US practice – a key pillar of the European company’s Strategy 2025 plan.
Chetan Rangaswamy, U.S. practice leader at BearingPoint, said, “We saw impressive growth in our US practice in 2021, and we’re seeing even more impressive growth in 2022. “This expansion is part of BearingPoint’s commitment to the US market. I am thrilled to have Brian Knudsen join us as one of our business development leaders in the US to support this growth. Brian has a long history of helping clients develop world-class services and SaaS.
BearingPoint dates back to 2000 with KPMG’s consulting business. In 2002, the firm acquired most of Arthur Andersen’s business consulting practice and renamed it BearingPoint. In the wake of the financial crisis, the firm’s US operations filed for bankruptcy and were sold to PwC and Deloitte in 2009.
Today, the firm has more than 4,600 people in Europe, as well as offices in the US and China to serve its largest clients. The company provides services in people and strategy, operations, finance and risk, customer and growth and technology. It currently has one US location in Chicago.
BearingPoint has global partnerships with ABeam Consulting for Asia, West Monroe Partners for North America and Grupo ASSA in South America.
“I am very excited to be a part of BearingPoint and its growth in the US,” said Knudsen. “We recognize the importance of change, and it’s great to see companies transform and succeed with our consulting services. The IP and people at BearingPoint are top-notch, and we have everything from world-class consulting to software to help companies get where they need to be.
The firm is currently investing in US consulting and expanding its enterprise resource planning capabilities, he said.
