LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Several businesses in the Chevy Chase area of Lexington must rebuild after someone destroyed their property.

Check out this spy video of what it looks like when a table starts at the window of the Chevy Chase Inn:

A Lexington restaurant is closed after vandalism. Monitoring shows what the table looks like in the window.

Chevy Chase Inn co-owner Bill Farmer Jr. said the incident happened around 1:00 a.m. Monday. Now board until the window is fixed.

The farmer thought the man might be coming for a drink, but the pub was closed.

“I thought he tried the door, and when he couldn’t get in, his frustration got the better of him,” Farmer said.

The man said he broke the front window of Beer Trap, causing more damage to nearby businesses.

“You feel for people. You want them to be happy, but maybe at 1:00 a.m. on a Monday morning, you can go home instead of committing a crime,” Farmer said.

Chevy Chase Inn asks customers to stop by for a drink to help fix this window.

“We have already paid a good sum to do this to make sure this is right. But the next two steps will be more expensive,” Farmer said.

Farmer said this is nothing new, and things like this can happen when you own a bar.

There are holes in the shingle here when someone rolled and shot it. It was like that before we were part of it. But people have been upset here before,” said the farmer.

Chevy Chase Inn and The Beer Trappe are operating regular business hours despite the damage.
