California Gov. Gavin Newsom is spending time with his family in Montana – the California State Fund is on a list of places to be banned.

The governor’s office has made it clear that Newcom did not use state funds for the trip.

Montana, along with 22 other states, has been banned from using state funds due to Montana anti-LGBT policies.

“The travel ban is a waste of government money,” Newton Communications Director Erin Melon told Insider. “The regime’s trip is not paid for by the government. Linking the two shows that there is something irresponsible and false.”

Newsom went on vacation to the state on Friday, but did not say where he was going. According to Melon, he will return home on Monday. Newsom’s wife Jennifer Sibel Newsom’s parents own property in Montana. The couple got married there in 2008. CalMatters reports.

This is not the first time Newsom has been examined for personal travel.

Newcom recently aired a political campaign in Florida on Sunday criticizing Florida Gov. Ron Desantis LGBTQ + and abortion policies.
