Housing affordability hit a new high last week as mortgage rates rose amid uncertainty over Washington’s extension of the federal debt ceiling. That’s according to a new report from tech-enabled real estate brokerage Redfin. With a deal between Republicans and Democrats over the weekend, rates are expected to begin to be discussed this week.
