Cummings (Burlington, North Carolina) athlete Jonathan Paylor has several stops lined up over the next month or two, and has added the University of Florida to his itinerary, according to 247Sports.
Payler plans to take official visits to Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina State and South Carolina, and is working on dates for unofficial visits to Florida, Colorado and North Carolina.
As an athlete, the biggest question surrounding Paylor is what position he will play at the next level. Most teams view him as a receiver-running back hybrid.
“Coach Billy Napier, he’s been beating me up a couple times,” Payler said. “They just lost their receiver (Kerry Colbert) but they got another one (Billy Gonzalez) so I was trying to connect with him to get down and stuff like that.”
There’s work to be done once Florida gets Piller in town. South Carolina is the overwhelming favorite to land him with 67.3% of On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine predictions. NC State is a distant second at 14.0% and North Carolina is third at 7.4%.
Payer is the consensus 4-star recruit ranked as high as No. 23 among those at his position by 247Sports. The ON3 industry ranking, a weighted average of all four major services, ranks 248 overall and 40 among wide receivers in 2024.
