OLYMPIA — The Washington State Department of Health has revoked or suspended the licenses, certifications, or registrations of the following health care providers in our state. The department has also immediately suspended the credentials of people who have been prohibited from practicing in other states.
The department’s Health Systems Quality Assurance Division works with boards, commissions and advisory committees to set licensing standards for more than 80 health care professions (e.g., dentists, nurses, counselors). Information about disciplinary action taken against medical doctors and physician assistants can be found on the Washington Medical Commission (WMC) website. Questions about WMC disciplinary actions can be sent to media@wmc.wa.gov.
Information about health care providers is on the agency’s website. Click on “Health Care Provider Lookup” under the “Find it Fast” section of the Department of Health website (doh.wa.gov). The site includes information about a health care provider’s license status, the expiration and renewal date of their credential, disciplinary actions and copies of legal documents issued after July 1998. This information is also available by calling 360-236-4700. Consumers who think a health care provider acted unprofessionally are also encouraged to call and report their complaint.
Grays Harbor
In April 2023 the Nursing Assistant Program summarily suspended the certified nursing assistant license of Tericka L Wheeldon (NC10039755). In September 2022, Wheeldon was placed on the Department of Social and Health Services’ Adult Protective Services long-term care abuse and neglect registry.
Jefferson County
In April 2023 the Examining Board of Psychology and Jeremy Joseph Senske (PY60066892) agreed to the suspension of his psychologist license. Senske did not report to the Department of Health that he pleaded guilty to vehicular assault and driving under the influence in 2019, a class B felony and a gross misdemeanor. Senske may petition to reinstate his credential after one year and must participate in a substance use monitoring program if the program determines he is required to enroll, or clinical supervision for one year if he is not. Senske must also pay a $10,000 fine, attend and pass an ethics course, complete six hours of continuing education in the areas of legal and ethical responsibilities, and comply with all criminal court requirements resulting from the collision.
Out of State
Utah: In April 2023 the Board of Naturopathy indefinitely suspended the naturopathic physician license of Lori B. Wieser (NT60083126). Wieser suffers from significant illness that prevents her from practicing with reasonable skill and safety. Wieser may petition for reinstatement if she undergoes a mental health evaluation with a professional that is pre-approved by the Board.
Idaho: In April 2023 the Dental Commission modified an existing order on the dentist license of Rahil Akhtar (DE60078325). A prior 2022 order granted reinstatement of Akhtar’s license; the modification is that Akhtar surrender his credential and agree to never practice dentistry in the state of Washington, with no right to reapply. In Idaho in 2014, Akhtar pleaded guilty to two counts of felony acquiring and obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud and deception for writing prescriptions that were not reasonable for dental services.
